I’m trying Windows Live Writer

I just downloaded the Windows Liver Writer to make it easier to post to my blog. Will this make me post more often? I’m not sure!! We’ll see how that goes. For now, this does seem to be pretty easy.

I can add pictures and all kinds of cool things.

I can add a whole photo album..

I hope it doesn't take me another 6 months to post again. Have a Merry Christmas!!

Well, it's been almost a month since I last posted. I've finished with Jason and Diana's quilt and it is at the quilter. She e-mailed me last night to say it is finished, so now all I need to do is get the binding sewn on. I can't wait to see how it will turn out.

I spent last weekend at a quilting retreat in Hesston, Kansas. I started a new scrappy quilt, but things just weren't going together right. I had a piece that I needed to sew on that was almost 3/8 of an inch too short. I got frustrated and put that aside for the weekend. I'm determined that it will not become another UFO. I cut out a simple baby quilt made from a charm pack. I got that all sewn together and then spent time cutting out a pattern that I picked up while I was in Branson with my friends. It is so bright and fun!!! I'll post some pictures of it as soon as I take them.

I've got another retreat coming up in August and I plan on digging out the scrappy quilt again to see if I can cut down the pieces to make it fit. I hate doing that, because then it screws up the borders....and they're scrappy pieced borders. I may come up with something completely new and different. :)

I'll try to get back here again before the wedding and post some pictures of the girls' flower girl dresses. Yes, I've still got that to do!!

Have a great week!

I'm back!

Well, it's been a very long time since I've posted to my blog.....a very, very long time.

I just returned from a vacation with my friends Pam, Deanna and Dianna. We spent a week in Branson, MO sewing, watching tv, playing on our computers and eating! Did we see any shows while in the Branson area? Nope! But, we had a great time just relaxing!

I took six quilting projects with me to Branson. I even bought two more while I was there! Did I finish anything? No! I'm really spending most of my time right now working on a wedding quilt for Jason, my son and Diana. They are getting married May 16th so I'm on a mission to get it finished quickly so I can get it to a longarm quilter. The quilt is the Colorado Wedding Quilt from Pam Bono. Mine is done in Purples, lavenders, blue-violet and greens. The background is unbleached muslin. I really wish I had chosen something besides muslin, but it's way too late to change that now. I plan to have Kay Clark from Wichita to quilt it.
This has been spring break week for my granddaughters. We had Saylor here on Monday night, Sammi on Tuesday, and Saylor again on Wednesday. I think Sammi planned to be here on Thursday, but GaGa (me) was just too tired and Pappy wasn't home to tell her it was ok. :) I love having them here, but after coming home from a week long vacation, and then Daylight Savings Time on Sunday, I just wasn't getting any rest. If it doesn't snow too much maybe Sammi can come tonight or tomorrow night. The girls go back to school on Monday, but Sammi doesn't have to go until noon.
Today we get to watch the KU game and then K-State plays later in the NCAA tournament. Before that starts, I need to get into the sewing room and get started on Jason and Diana's quilt again. I'm so close!
ROCK CHALK JAYHAWKS!! KU!!! Good luck today!
